Nikken started in Japan in 1975. They entered the USA in 1989 and have grown steadily since then. They market magnets used for therapy and body pain. They make insane claims about what their magnets can/will do for you but I have never personally tried them. As far as the opportunity goes, you can get started for $49.95 for the “sales kit” but they recommend you “demo pack” along with “career pack” and then things get really expensive.

One must keep products “on stock” so that you can have the product available when/if you sell it. I think that it is fair for people to question the benefits of these magnets and this HAS to be something that’s hard to overcome when selling these things. The Baylor College of medicine did a “double blind” study on magnetic therapy and did find some credible results.

The study was conducted by Dr. Carlos Vallbona on fifty post-polio patients at Baylor's Institute for Rehabilitation Research in Houston. Bioflex, Inc., of Corpus Christi provided both the magnets (multipolar, circular pattern) and a set of visually identical sham magnets to serve as controls. To keep the study "double-blind" neither the patients nor the staff were informed as to which devices were active magnets, and which were shams. Before and after the forty-five-minute period of magnet therapy, the patients were asked to grade their pain on a scale from 0 to 10.

The twenty nine patients with active magnets reported, on average, a significant reduction of pain (from 9.6 to 4.4), while the twenty-one patients with shams reported a much smaller average reduction (from 9.5 to 8.4). This is a substantial difference, and if the double-blind study was successfully conducted, it cannot be explained by a placebo effect. As interesting as this, I personally would not use these magnets for health or any other reason.

UPDATE: I noticed here locally that there is a successful distributor for Nikken here and a few of the tourists here in town (I live on the beach on the coast of Oregon) have been spotted wearing these magnets and have said nothing but great things about it. Does that mean that they are great? No.....I thought I should at least throw in this information because I actually tracked these people down and confronted them and asked questions regarding Nikken for feedback on this review.
