Ok…this is a touchy and tricky topic because it is true that there are grants out there on the federal, state, and private levels for different specific purposes BUT, how to go about getting them is whole new ball game. One key thing is supply and demand and that determines approval or not. Many of these grant agencies are required to give away a certain amount in a given year and there are consequences if they do not, such as, having a lesser amount to give away the following year.
A lot of this money goes unclaimed because people do not know it exists OR they apply for it improperly and therefore, are denied the grant. Government grants, small business grants, college grants, federal grants, education grants, scholarship grants, student grants, and the list goes on. There are hundreds of sites that claim to help finding the grants and getting the grants much easier.
This means that one must know which sites are legitimate and which ones are providing outdated information. Beware of “free offers” of cd’s because of the hidden fees involved. National Grants Conference offers information for a whopping $999 and there is plenty of information online stating to NOT make this mistake.
It is not uncommon to pay these types of fees, or any fees for that matter, to only find out that the information is outdated, phone numbers are disconnected, and return policies suffer. Buyer beware with NGC.
