Mystery Shopper
According to their website, Mystery Shoppers purpose is to help businesses increase sales and improve employee customer service awareness. They post a warning on their site that they have indirectly been associated with a scam involving cashiers checks. They claim to provide an unbiased opinion of how businesses are perceived by consumers.
They have an application to fill out in order to become a mystery shopper and it is free BUT, they only had 3 job postings at the moment so I find it hard to believe that anyone can make any serious money doing this. In theory, I can see how this would be beneficial to a business when you have “mystery shoppers” coming in to critique customer service and the overall shopping experience and for the mystery shopper, if you like shopping and dealing with the potential hassles of shopping, then this would be something to try.
I know that there are specific instructions to follow per each shop and you may/may not be chosen to do the “assignment”. You basically go “undercover” to help a business on a certain aspect of their employees like product/product knowledge/customer service/friendliness, etc. So, each “shop” is different and you get paid a whole month AFTER your shop.
So, if you do a “shop” in October, you will receive payment at the end of November and it is mailed to you. They do NOT do PayPal or any electronic transfers. There has been some recent local news reportings about fraudulent behavior with these exact operations so definitely beware.
