Mary Kay Cosmetics
Back in the day, you could have really made great money with Mary Kay. Can you do this today? Well, I suppose but I know from experience that this market is HORRIBLY saturated. My wife got started and was having a great time and making a little money. She decided to take a brochure to our bowling league (less than 60 people) and see if she could sign up some orders.
She soon found out that just in our little community (less than 5,000 people at that time) at our little bowling league, there were 14 women that were also Mary Kay reps and another 20+ at our church! So…competition drove her out almost as quickly as she entered. Cosmetics is something that is still a thriving industry but unless you can compete with advertising costs of major corporations, I don’t believe you can ever make a living doing this.
The women that got started way back when and have established loyal customers can make a good living. A lady at our church actually drives a pink Mary Kay car as a result of her success BUT she’s been doing it for over 18 years and has so many loyal customers that she is set.
She is definitely the exception. Good products and everything so I give Mary Kay a good review, I just warn you about the saturation and competition. It is fierce.
