Curves
Curves started in 1995 and has grown into about 9000 franchisees. They currently have over 4000 clients and operate in many different countries. The franchise can only be purchased in un-represented areas UNLESS you are willing to buy out the current franchise.
There are some current legal issues with Curves so I suggest that you be careful and leary. All in all, lots of competition and plenty of money to be spent to get involved. Can you make money? I would say that, yes you can because obviously people are doing it BUT, their results are not typical and duplication is hard because the only variable is the individual franchisee.
