Chem-Dry
I don't have a personal experience with this but I DO have experiences with franchises that are similar to this. This is scary stuff. In most cases, they make you believe that THEIR product is superior to all the rest and basically encourage you to talk trash about the competition.
One thing interesting that I learned researching Chem Dry is that they frown upon steam cleaning carpets throughout the whole thing BUT they encourage you to purchase a $6000 portable extractor to heat their cleaning products on demand so that you can steam clean heavy traffic lanes. Oxi-moron isn't it?
So, beware and be careful of what you sign for when purchasing this or any other franchise situation/opportunity. In many cases, the fine print will prevent you from having any legal recourse in the event that you ever wanted/needed to sue them. I'm not saying that there isn't money to be made in this business, I question their "ways" and integrity.
